Light Filter fabrics are commonly known as semi-blockout as it gives privacy during the day and night time.
With this type of fabric, light passes through yet prevents the glaring on the screen. This has the same effect as a frosted glass in a bathroom.

Sunscreen roller blinds also help reduce heat but they are not a thermal blockout blind which has a white thermal backing on the fabric to reduce the heat completely. These stop the sun all together and keep the room cooler in summer on those hot afternoons.

The house is noticeably warmer this winter. They look classy, no one has to stand on the couch to shut old curtains now, having them open via a remote is so handy, especially in a power cut! being battery run is a god send.
